Why Strategy Is No Longer Enough for Me (or My Clients)
My understanding of who I am at a soul level is changing, and therefore so is my business. Sharing this has been on my heart for some time now, and I’m feeling called to share more about the shifts I’m making.
So here’s the big secret –
I’m done leading with strategy.
Just three months into starting my business, Heart & Haven, I was burnt out. The truth (one that I didn’t care to admit) was this: I was back in the same hustle my heart wanted to leave behind. I swapped out the marketing director title for a business of my own, but I was still operating exactly the same.
I wasn’t showing up the way I wanted to – for my clients or for myself. And I knew something was missing. I was just damn scared to admit it.
I felt safe in the identity I was used to, and I grasped onto it. I was the girl with the plan. Beautiful decks, flawless timelines, clear deliverables. Strategy was my comfort zone. It was how I felt I needed to show up, to add value, and to prove myself.
Yet, it no longer felt like nearly enough.
Strategy wasn’t going to solve my clients problems.
Here’s what was:
Empowerment. Intuition. Authenticity.
It’s become so clear to me that real transformation and momentum happens through empowering my clients, collaborating with them, holding space, and not feeding them answers. It has become more about cultivating space for you to find your own answers within, not seeking a plan from someone else's playbook. Through tapping into your own intuition, you can show up from a place of deep confidence and presence in your business, so that your own authenticity can radiate out.
Strategy quickly began to feel like another mask, or a bandaid to slap on a business without addressing the deeper why behind the brand – your unique energy and essence.
Don’t get me wrong, marketing is a beautiful, powerful, and necessary part of the business (I’m an ex-Marketing Director that’s totally rewriting how I approach marketing). And yet, here’s why I’m ditching strategy for heart.
Your business is an extension of your soul.
You’re not just “building a brand,” you’re expressing your unique essence.
This truth has rang true to be from the beginning. We can’t look at "strategy" as separate from us. Your business, your brand, is any extension of YOU. It is quite literally the energy you want to share with the world. It is your mission and how you want to impact others. Whether that be through a kick ass product or an amazing service, your business is YOU. Therefore, your own personal growth is deeply connected. Understanding yourself is going to lead to deeper capacity and expansion in your work.
You can’t outsource your business blueprint.
The secret playbook you're seeking? It’s inside of you. There is no one size fits all approach.
Maybe marketing isn’t your zone of genius. But guess what? That agency you hired, the business coach you are working with, they don’t hold your energy. If they aren’t helping you come into alignment with your vision, your unique essence, your intuition, your leadership, then you are outsourcing your power to have someone else define your gifts. And in turn, losing your authenticity, and magnetism.
You want to radiate, connect deeply to your dream clients, and make an impact on the world. You must show up authentically, share from your heart, and show up from a place of truth. This is what makes you magnetic, and this is what sells.
Here are just a few of the many different scenarios my clients have come to me with:
“I’ve spent nearly $30,000 on a marketing agency, but I’m still not seeing results.”
“I was promised to make my investment back in full, but no one has signed up.”

Let me be honest, when I hear this, my heart begins to race. Because I SO understand the frustration. I understand the feeling that nothing is working. I understand seeking a quick fix. Because I’ve been there. I’ve been on both sides of the line – supporting marketing efforts and selling myself.
So here’s to my next point.
A marketing “strategy” can’t be a mask.
No amount of slick copy or funnels can cover up misalignment. People feel the real you — so let them.
When we are showing up from this place of wanting a quick fix, and outsourcing our power, we are often in a state of lack, fear, or shame.
“I’m not far enough along.”
“No one wants to work with me”
“I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“I need to look like I have it all figured out.”
Underneath, you’re doubting yourself. You are in a scarcity mindset, and you feel suffocated because your business now feels like a place where again, you can’t show up as yourself.
When we want a quick fix to take our business from 0 to 100 – to scale revenue by 10x, to get thousands of followers overnight, or to look like you have it all figured out PERFECTLY – we are missing a big step in our business.
Your business is one of your business teachers and expanders.
Every stuck moment? A mirror. Every challenge? An opportunity for growth.
In every resistance point, there is a lesson to be learned. A feeling to be nurtured. A place to be honored within yourself. And therefore your business is going to ask you to look in the mirror.
What is it showing you?
What is it teaching you?
What is it asking you to acknowledge and hold space for?
If you are present, you open space for your business to support you in your own growth.
Your business is asking for your presence, for real momentum to begin.
You don’t have to be 10 steps ahead. You just have to be here, fully in.
So often we are living in the future – I need to be here, I need to grow to this point. And trust me –visioning and goals is so important, and so is being so damn proud of exactly where you are. For knowing your worth, your value, your power even in the moments that feel small.
Because when you do this, you can show up in your power.
Real strategy starts with intuition.
And it’s a damn powerful one – to know your unique essence, tap into the answers you hold within, and show up authentically.
And yes, it requires courage. It requires vulnerability. It feels safer to outsource it – to seek the fix from someone else. But when we take ownership of our work, our power, our connection to the universal energy that is constantly wanting to work with us, shows up. Spirit wants to co-create with you – it's not about having the perfect plan. It's about tuning in and slowing down, and tapping into your deep knowing, and trusting that.
I’ve seen so many clients pour their hearts and souls into their offerings, and the friction point happens when it's time to share it with the world. To SELL it. Why? Because it requires vulnerability.
Yes, it would be great if we could put our offers out there and the perfect clients are magnetized into your space (Guess what – this CAN happen). And this also requires you to be seen. To share your truth. To take up space. To be who you are and OWN IT. To stop keeping yourself small.
You have a gift the world needs. A message meant to be shared. Now is the time. This is your sign. By keeping ourselves small, we are holding so many people back from experiencing our medicine.
As my connection to my own intuition and spirit grows, so does how I serve. My business is evolving because I am evolving. It is all connected, and that is SUCH a beautiful thing.
